Farm Machinery Sale 2024

BTF have conducted two farm machinery dispersal sales this year to date.  Richard Thomas reports.

In mid-March over 400 lots of soft fruit machinery and equipment went under the hammer at Goodnestone Court Farm near Faversham.

There were a wide range of Lots on offer including workshop tools, pack house equipment with orchard mowers, sprayers, trailers and soft fruit machinery.

Despite wet conditions underfoot there was a large crowd with bidders from wide and far to support the outgoing tenant on the farm.

There were a range of small orchard tractors for sale, forklift trucks and farm vehicles.

Prices for the tractors included a McCormick x 2 tractor with 600 hours at £12,000.  The Antonio Carraro articulated tractor sold for £18,500 and the John Deere 5075 GL lift profile cab and 1113 hours £15,000. The John Deere 5100 and loader with 4460 hours made £28,750.  The small fleet of John Deere Gators ranged from £6,750 to £8,250 and forklift trucks £2,700 – £4,300.

In early October approximately, 200 high quality, mainly arable, Lots were offered at Brissenden Farm, Frittenden nr Cranbrook where again the weather conspired to make parking conditions on the day a challenge.  Nevertheless, the sale ran smoothly with a large crowd of local farmers from near and far attending the sale many frustrated at being unable to drill and prepare the ground for autumn work due to the wet weather.

A pair of well-maintained John Deere 7810 tractors attracted spirited bidding.  The tractor with over 9280 hours on the clock made £ 43,000 and the same model with 10,200 tractor hours £38,250.  A clean and tidy new Holland T4030 with only 1628 hours sold for £22,000.  Other good quality lots sold well with the John Deere direct drill topping out at £24,000   and the Rexus Cultivator Press at £16,250.
