CHAPEL DOWN GETS NEW WINERY APPROVED AT CANTERBURY BUSINESS PARK OFF THE A2, AFTER LEGAL FIGHT
Drinks giant Chapel Down has secured permission for a new winery, following a major blow earlier this year.
The well-known grape-grower originally got the greenlight for the new venture at Canterbury Business Park, off the A2 near Bridge, in April.
REWILDING PROJECT AWARDED £100K TO EXPAND
A Kent rewilding project will expand after being awarded £100,000. Kent Wildlife Trust will use the money from the charity Rewilding Britain to connect woodland in the Blean, an area home to bison that were introduced last summer.
Advance BPS payments to be issued to farmers
Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) advance payments will be issued to famers on 1 August, the Rural Payments Agency (RPA) announced (25 July).
Advance payments will be up to 50% of the total annual BPS payment and will help farmers impacted by price rises throughout the industry with their summer season cashflow.
