Farm Machinery sale at Adisham Court Farm, 23rd of September

A large crowd gathered at Adisham Court Farm to wish Fiona Paterson and Guy Steward well on their retirement from the industry and to bid enthusiastically for the 400 lots or so on offer. In hot, dusty conditions, Richard Thomas and Mike Bax rotated the auctioneering duties and finished up proceedings in good time.

The majority of the equipment was arable machinery from the farm, with some entered lots from local farms by arrangement. The lots on offer had been well maintained and were in good order.

There were three Massey Ferguson tractors and a combine on sale, with Deutz and Ford tractors also in the line-up. The top selling Massey Ferguson was a 6480 DYNA-6, which sold for £32,000, and a MASSEY 6495 (7500 hours) which sold for £27,750. The Matbro forklift sold for £12,750 and the Massey Ferguson Activa Combine for £28,250.

There was an impressive run of tipping trailers, with a pair of Cook’s 12 tonne grain trailers topping out at £10,000 and £9,000. The Lemken 6-furrow reversal plough sold for £8,500, and the Vaderstad Carrier made £20,000. Other items sold included a 5 metre Bednar ‘Batwing’ mower, which made £15,250.

The vendors had kindly donated the proceeds of sale of the Ford 4000 to RABI & FCN and this sold for £3,800.

A long, hot but satisfying day, which was carried off with great skill and efficiency by the BTF team, selling to local buyers as well as many from outside the county, including Northern Ireland.
