Fundraising for MND & Cranbrook Rugby Club – An evening with Kevin Sinfield, MBE, OBE & CBE

BTF has long associations with Cranbrook Rugby Club with Richard Thomas and Alex Cornwallis, both former club captains and the firm are long standing sponsors.

This popular Wealden club, with its thriving junior membership and counties 1 Kent, status has a ten year plan to develop the facilities at the Tomlin Ground in Cranbrook.

Planning permission has been obtained for a new clubhouse to compliment the three excellent pitches, which surround the clubhouse.

Fundraising is well underway, and this was endorsed in the summer with the visit of Kevin Sinfield CBE the England Rugby League International, now the current assistant coach to the England National Rugby Union Team.

Kevin is well known for his sponsored marathon running across the country, raising funds for Motor Neurone Disease research. The club were delighted when he accepted an invitation to come along to Cranbrook and talk about his playing career and what has inspired him to such physical endurance and fundraising exploits.

The event was extremely well attended and professionally managed by the club with over 700 people seated to listen to Kevin and take part in the charity auction which followed and was conducted by Tom Hamplett, a player at the club.

BTF were pleased to take two tables to the event for clients and staff and at the end of the evening the event raised close to £250,000, which was split evenly between the club and the charity. The BTF hosts for the evening were Richard Thomas, Will Hinckley and Claire Houchin.
