Kent GWCT Charity Clay Shoot – 2025

This popular annual event held towards the end of June is always well attended and this year was no exception, with 27 teams of four guns in action on the Twyssenden Estate, near Goudhurst.

The dry sunny day was perfect, with just enough breeze to keep barrels cool! The attractive valley setting was ideal for the teams, shooting 100 bird flushes, including high pheasant, partridge and the rough shoot.

There was some fierce competition, and the winning team emerged as the “4 Musketeers”. Namely Paul Nicolls, Kelly Childs, Sammy French and Lee Fisher. They scored an impressive 95 out of 100 on the high pheasant stand and shot 270 clays in all out of 300. The GCWT team came a creditable third place.

BTF have sponsored and organised the day since the late 1980s and Michael Bax conducted the auction afterwards with his normal humour and efficiency with over £20,000 raised for the charity on the day.
