Richard Thomas

Chairman & Director

Richard comes from a Kent farming family based in the Cranbrook area. He qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and Fellow of the Association of Agricultural Valuers in 1984 having gained professional experience working with Michael Bax in Sevenoaks for Messrs Cobbs. Richard is a founding Partner of BTF with Mike Bax and Tom French.

Richard heads up the rural agency side of the business and specialises particularly in the sale and acquisition of farmland and estates. Under his direction, the agency practice now covers the whole of Kent and Sussex and, on occasions, other parts of England. Richard is also an RICS Registered Valuer & an AMC Local Agent.

Richard is a Former Chairman of Marden Cricket Club and captained Cranbrook Rugby Club in the mid-80’s.  For many years he played a role in the organisation and running of The Weald of Kent Ploughing Match, which is a great passion.  He also sits on the Kent Game and Wildlife Conservation Trust Committee, helping to raise funds throughout the year.
