On Saturday 2 July a team of 25 from BTF Partnership will be walking from the firm’s Challock office to Marden Cricket & Hockey Club, a distance of over 23 miles, to raise funds for five charities nominated by staff. The firm is aiming to raise around £5,000 in total, which will be split between:

Kent Help for Ukraine https://www.facebook.com/kenthelpforukraine22/

Dandelion Time https://dandeliontime.org.uk/

Riding for the Disabled https://www.rda-southeastregion.org.uk/

Managing Director Claire Houchin comments: “We wanted to challenge ourselves as a firm and also to raise money for charities personal to us, so we decided to walk from our Challock office to Marden Cricket & Hockey Club which we sponsor. There is no doubt this is a long distance to cover in one day, particularly as training plans have been rather slow to start for some, but we hope if anyone sees us enroute they will encourage us on, possibly via the nearest pub! The charities we have chosen are benefiting a number of people across the region, and further afield, as well as some of those within our own firm, and we want to show our gratitude and support for their amazing work.”

The walkers will go from Challock to Charing and along the Pilgrim’s Way before heading across the Weald towards Egerton, with a long stretch across country before reaching Staplehurst and then the last leg to Marden. The group estimate it will take about eight hours of solid walking in total.

Claire Houchin concludes: “We have a great team spirit and I know we will all enjoy the walk no matter how tired our legs get, and we hope the money raised will bring a positive difference to the work of these five great charities, particularly here in Kent.”
